Co-op to move into The Maltings, Colchester
The Pickstock Group’s student accommodation scheme, The Maltings in Colchester will see a Co-op convenience store move into one of its retail units on the site.
The Co-op will lease 3040 sq ft of retail space on the ground floor of the development. The retail units are in a great location next to a major route into the town meaning the general public can also benefit from the store.
The convenience store will stock a huge selection of everyday essentials, adding to the amenities The Maltings has to offer, as well as some student employment opportunities.
Kate Pickstock Development Surveyor commented “We are thrilled to have Co-op on board. I am sure the store will thrive at this location.”
“There will be 779 students living here once the second phase opens this September, a fantastic customer base for the store.” Kate added.
The second phase of the student accommodation scheme in Colchester is due to complete mid August, in time for the September intake of students. The first phase which opened last September saw 381 students move in. The second phase will complete the development which has been the largest student accommodation scheme The Pickstock Group has delivered to date.
